There's nothing like coming home. Yet there's nothing like being away, whether in a place familiar or new, either. For the past two weeks, I visited family and friends on vacation, and it was a refreshing time to make memories I treasure so much now. Over the course of the two weeks, we experienced so much... tastes, smells, and sights that are so different from my everyday. Pies were purchased and fresh flowers oohed and ahhed at as we wandered around farmer's markets. Delicious food was savored at restaurants we frequent year after year and others we'd never even heard of. We explored piers and docks, searched for shells and birdwatched. Maybe the most important, we spent time, sweet time, with family we see only every so often and basked in the beauty of each minute. I'm so thankful it... the time, the people, the laughs. Yet I'm equally thankful for coming home and seeing places and people that are part of my everyday... places and people that have a very special place in my heart. No, there's nothing quite like coming home.
