surrounded: inspiration in life

I thrive on inspiration. (i.e. friday's post) Most of one wall in my room is covered with photos, as is the inside of my closet; its walls are lined with photos torn out of magazines and old calendars.... style inspiration, quotes, and yes, black and white photos of Paris. Surrounding myself with these photos, cards, words, Scripture, and art? It inspires me. Words, in the form of quotes I've found and written out, or, in the form of little notes and cards that I tack onto my bulletin board or post on my wall.... they motivate me to keep going, to be better. They remind me of who I am. Those words help to keep me going.

Photos inspire my photography.... my work, my art. To keep a fresh mindset and to always be growing as an artist and photographer is something that is really crucial. How can I expect to grow if I don't expose myself to new and different work? And the photos of friends and family, the ones that make me smile every time I look at them? They are like those words on cards.... they too help to keep me moving forward, to remember sweet memories, and they remind me to make more just like them.

Whether it is the words, photos, pins, postcards, reminders, notes, cards, or whatever else is hanging, thumb-tacked, or displayed on my walls and bulletin board, it all is precious to me. I live surrounded by words, by art, by photos, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
