Hi Carlotta! Thank you so much for guest posting today. Please tell us a bit about yourself!
What motivated you to start blogging?I started my blog in 2006, after being inspired by my mom's blog (she no longer blogs, however), but it wasn't until September of 2009 that I really starting getting involved and starting posting regularly.
What is a favorite photography tip?I could spend so much time giving tips, but I think one of the most important is that you don't need a fancy camera to be a photographer. I can't tell you how many people have lamented to me that they wish they could get more into photography, but they only have a point and shoot. It doesn't matter. A true photographer won't be set back by not having the type of camera they might want.
Also, perseverance is key. Don't give up even if you don't get it right the first time! You'll get there in time :)
And finally, what are a few things you enjoy doing in your spare time?Other than blogging and photography, of course ;), I love reading, interior design, and compiling outfits, and flipping through fashion magazines.
Now I'll hand it over to Carlotta for this post! You're in for a treat.
Polyvore is my new found love. It combines fashion, collages, and shopping all into one, all things I adore. Polyvore is incredibly simple to use - if you have a Facebook account, you can connect with that, thus eliminating the need to create another account.
Once you're all set up, you can search items by category, i.e., dresses, tops, jeans, shoes, bags, etc. You can also sort by price range, which goes from under fifty dollars to over a thousand. There's also a search bar, where you can look for specific items from stores.
If you find an item you like, just drag and drop it into the blank space on the left and arrange it to your liking. Have fun with backgrounds, text, and photos! This is a place for your creativity to take over.
But the best thing about Polyvore? Everything on the site can be purchased. When you click on the item, you're directed to the page in the store that sells it. No more wistfully staring at something, wishing you could own it! :)
