Arctic Tundra. Oh, and Merry Christmas {Eve}.
It's Christmas Eve...
And I'm lovin' it.
{Love.}
It kind of looks like the Arctic Tundra. Ha...
Remember the reason for the season! 2000 Decembers ago, the miracle that saved us arrived. Best present ever? I think so.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.

Mele Kalikimaka.
I attached icicle lights to my swirly mirror above my desk. I love it. It's kind of intoxicating... whenever I'm in my room these lights are ON! I love them. What do you think?

what winter means
Winter means...
Fires. Real, wood-burning fires in our fireplace.
Snow. Fluffy, light, sugary snow that coats the sheds and barns around our house and makes them look like gingerbread houses.
Christmas. Buying, wrapping, and giving gifts. I love wrapping gifts... check out these great tips for gift wrapping at Oh, Hello Friend.
Welcome. Welcoming friends and family into our home to celebrate this season...
Gather. What a word... it holds so much meaning in its six letters... and I can't wait to do it. I can't wait to see my family for Christmas and after... whoever first said it was right- this truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
What does winter mean to you?

so ready.
I am so looking forward to this weekend.
I get to spend tomorrow giving coats to people who desperately need them. They'll also receive a big box of food and toys for their kids. But the most important gift they'll receive is the message of Jesus. I'm so ready for God to move this weekend!
In other news, I'm entering yet another photo challenge. Tis the season for them, it seems. :)
This photo is a favorite of mine right now... it's definitely not wintry at all, but I love the color and the detail.

snowy weekend...
I have had the most relaxing weekend over the past few days. Ah. So nice.
Yesterday, Saturday, I saw the new Chronicles of Narnia movie with a bunch of friends. That was excellent- highly reccomended. :) Then they all came over and we ate pizza, ran around the house and tried to get rid of all that extra energy left over after you sit through a two hour movie and can't go outside because it's sleeting/raining/snowing. {Excuse me as I pause for breath.} It was a great day.
Today, we did not go to church because... of... a... BLIZZARD WARNING. Yes. All 2-3 inches of snow that we got makes for a blizzard warning?! What?! Apparently it was the wind that was the deciding factor here. Then, all of my "activities" for this afternoon were cancelled. I actually didn't mind the day at home. We watched football and a movie... I drank a big mug of tea, then switched and went for some coffee. :) It was extremely relaxing.
Moving on.
I am entering this photo in Aspire's Christmas Photo Challenge...
It's extremely simple, but I think that simple beauty is, in essence, the beauty of winter.
And here are a few others from the beautiful snow that has been everpresent over the past few days! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Oh! And I'd love to hear what you think of the new blog design. I always like hearing what people have to say! And do you prefer the huge photos like in this post, the size I normally post them as, or something in between? Thanks!
